GO Project reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, and/or change in-country itineraries for a trip/adventure without notice. Although rare, this is most likely to occur due to one of the following conditions:
- Travel conditions or conditions in the host country are deemed to be unsafe. We rely on information and recommendations from the U.S. Department of State, the Centers for Diseas and Control and Prevention, and our ministry partners in making this decision.
- The mission trip fails to achieve the minimum number of team members required to make the project feasible.
Cancelling Your Own Trip
$100 of your trip/adventure fee is non-refundable.
In order to keep the overall trip cost down, the airline tickets we purchase are nonrefundable. Once purchased, the ticket belongs to the passenger and cannot be transferred to another person. If, for any reason, you are not able to go on the trip, you are still responsible for the cost of the ticket. The ticket may be reissued up to 12 months from the date of purchase per airline discretion. The airline charges a rescheduling fee of approximately $150.
If you need to reschedule your trip for personal reasons, GO Project will help you find a new date to go with another team. We will rebook your ticket and you will be responsible for the rescheduling fee.
In the event that GO Project cancels a trip, we will cover the rescheduling fee for those that join another team.
If you are unable to schedule a new trip date, please see below for refund options.
Vision Trips paid for by participant
The Vision Trip fee paid by the participant or by a legal custodian of a minor is refundable. Airfare is not refundable, less $100, but the ticket can be used by the participant for any personal travel. When this happens the value of the ticket is no longer a tax deduction.
Vision Trip paid for by others:
- Based on IRS requirements, Vision Trips totally funded by other donations are not eligible for refunds.
- Vision Trips partially funded by other donations are eligible for a refund of the amount paid by you that exceeds the price of your airfare. Airfare is not refundable.*
Refunds can be requested by sending an email to Debbie McMullin at Debbie@goproject.org.
*If you are unable to go due to a medical reason, the airline may offer a refund upon receiving a letter from your doctor.
Sponsoring Someone’s Trip – If (1) your gift intended to send ministry teams on Vision trips to provide support, encouragement, and love to orphaned and abandoned children in desperate countries to further the work of The Global Orphan Project, but (2) I trust The GO Project to use these funds to advance their ministry as they see fit, then you will receive a tax deduction letter. However, if the person for whom my gift is intended is unable to go on the Vision Trip, you will not receive a refund. These parameters are consistent with IRS guidelines which enables this donation to be tax deductible. If you want to support a particular person only, then please give the money to them directly.
