Faces of CarePortal: Meet Abby

You have a heart to serve in your community. But sometimes it’s hard to know how.

Abby Fry is one of many dedicated Regional Managers representing CarePortal, The Global Orphan Project’s ministry initiative bridging the gap between children in need and churches who want to help. In this short video, Abby shares how she’s seen God open doors for churches to go out into their community and meet needs they never knew existed — “needs of vulnerable families just two doors down the street.”

Stepping Out of the Church, Into the Community

We’re privileged to hear stories of churches stepping out into their communities every day. Here are a few stories from churches responding to needs of families in their communities within the last month:

“Being the arms of Christ in the community, serving the most vulnerable, blesses our church family because everyone can participate in some way.” —Texas Church Responder, Request #78410

“Giving a child his or her own bed to sleep on is priceless! — Arizona Church Responder, Request #7536

“Our church had the opportunity to meet with this mom at a local restaurant, during which time she was profuse with gratitude. She was incredibly open about her recent challenges and was amazed by our willingness to help her in this time. With her new home, we are putting together a team from the church to help her move. We see each interaction as an opportunity to affirm her dignity and demonstrate to her the love of Jesus Christ.” —Kansas Church Responder, Request #66221
